Sydney Harbour - what a venue!

If you have never celebrated on Sydney Harbour, now is the time to start planning, and if it’s been on your list for a while, there is no better time to tick it off. Year-round, Captain Cook Cruises offers their guests the celebration of a lifetime on one of their super-cruisers or premium charter vessels.

The flagship MV Sydney 2000 offers lunch, high tea, dinner and lounge-bar celebrations. This 65-metre (214 foot) cruiser boasts the open-top Star Deck to take in the uninterrupted gasp-worthy views, below which are three dining decks with floor-to-ceiling windows. Each deck has its only galley and bar, bringing your meal or drinks directly from these to wherever you are seated.

Whether it’s just for the two or you want to celebrate with a group, there is a table by a window for two and for more for your special occasion from which you can access the Star Deck at the top of the vessel. The staff will even come to your table to let you know when the best pictures can be taken.

Private dining room Sydney

You don’t have to be a millionaire to have your own private dining room on a boat on Sydney Harbour.

Onboard the super-cruiser MV Sydney 2000, you can arrange an exclusive celebration in a private dining room for lunch or dinner. Choose from two private dining rooms that offer 360-degree views from the ceiling to floor windows. Alternatively, step outside to enjoy uninterrupted views of Sydney’s harbourside icons from your private balcony as you enjoy cocktails. Savour the inclusive four-course a la carte menu showcasing fresh Australian produce and keep the fun flowing with the beverage package's wines, beers and spirits. Or, perhaps you want to do High Tea with a bottomless glass of Australian sparkling wine. Enjoy ambient background music or plug your device into the room’s sound system for your favourite party tunes. A dedicated best-in-class service crew and up to 3.5 hours on Sydney Harbour on a dinner cruise. Perfect.

And if you book your private room for an advertised departure, the room hire is free!

Celebrations small and large

With a capacity for up to 700 guests, the MV Sydney 2000 has so much room. The highest dining deck, The Sky Deck has a capacity for 208 guests with an aft cocktail deck (at the back of the room!). On this deck, you will find the Sirius private dining room with its own exclusive cocktail deck - and access to the top deck. A perfect size for a celebration of 36 family and friends for a private dinner party or 40 guests for a cocktail party. Cocktails on the private deck? The best on board.

The second highest Club Deck has its balcony at the stern of the ship and offers the same floor-to-ceiling views and access to the Star Deck. No matter where you sit, you will be captivated by the views as you cruise gently around the harbour.

Book exclusive use of the Endeavour room for a special occasion with up to 110 family and friends, including your private cocktail deck.

The plush Ocean Deck gives you a stellar water-level experience. You will feel genuinely immersed in harbour life with your up close and personal seating at the water’s edge. Watch marine birds and catch a glimpse of underwater life (and the occasional dolphin or little penguin). Here you can enjoy a lounge bar ambience and as you watch harbour life pass by. You get the best of both worlds with access to the Star Deck. You can enjoy the Ocean Deck after your meal and stay on board to enjoy the harbour too.

Sydney Harbour, what a backdrop

A globally aspirational destination, Sydney Harbour turns on the charm every single day and adds glamour to the night, making it an unrivalled backdrop for events. The city knows it, with its calendar of spectacular annual events like summer’s New Year’s Eve and winter’s colourful three-week Vivid.

The beauty of this natural harbour is a sight to behold. If you have never celebrated on Sydney Harbour, now is the time to start planning. As you enjoy the ambience and attentive service onboard, outside on the boat is where the most spectacular show is.

You will cruise past the mesmerising Sydney Opera House, where inside the stage of the concert hall and outside, the unique architecture of its gleaming ‘sails’ are revered worldwide. Connecting the north and south side of the city, Sydney Harbour Bridge is an engineering wonder of its own accord, with its steel arch and granite-facing pylons. Ever watched the sun set behind the bridge? It’s a list-worthy thing.

Witness historic Kirribilli House and neighbouring Admiralty house, the Sydney residences of the Prime Minister and Governor General. Cruise past the greenery of the Royal Botanic Gardens home to Mrs Macquarie’s chair, see the European first settlement at The Rocks and watch the Ferris wheel spin behind the comical façade of Luna Park.

Watch for birdlife and little penguins, pretty coves and harbourside beaches, where the locals ease into the weekend after a week’s work.

It doesn’t matter where you are seated onboard; it all unfolds during your cruise.

Uninterrupted views of Sydney Harbour

On the ground, it’s really hard to get that view of Sydney Harbour, the bridge or the Opera House without jostling for space with locals and other visitors who are equally enraptured with the iconic sites and sights of the harbour. There is always something competing for space in front of you - be it people, structures or Sydney Ferries darting across the water.

That all changes when you are on the water with Captain Cook Cruises. Have your camera or phone fully charged for the endless uninterrupted, million-dollar views. As the cruiser makes its way at gentle knots around the harbour, you’ll get front and centre views of every harbourside scene.

Our other favourite comparable world-renowned restaurant with a view is the Jules Verne at the Eiffel Tower, Paris. We recommend the views from that one too!

Capture those treasured memories on Sydney Harbour

There are so many photogenic moments. Sydney Harbour is arguably one of the most impressive selfie locations in the world.

Capture memory pics of you and your partner, your friends, and your family. You are cruising under Sydney Harbour Bridge, passing by the Sydney Opera House, and capturing a playful dolphin in the sparkling water.

The chef-prepared dishes fresh from the kitchen are pretty snap-worthy too.

With free Wi-Fi on board, you can share each moment with your friends and family at home as it happens.

Delicious dining

There is a selection of delectable dining experiences to choose from for your special occasion. For lunch, there is a choice of a two-course or three-course à la carte dining Top Deck Lunch. In the evening, choose a four-course à la carte Starlight Dinner Cruise or the wine pairing six-course degustation Gold Penfolds Dinner Cruise - both of which are served on the Sky Deck. For these premium dining experiences, you can choose from four departures and embarkation points for a 2-3.5 hour relaxed dining experience.

Everything is taken care of

All you need to do is to book the experience you are dreaming of and be at the point of departure on time. Once on board, everything is taken care of, so you can ease into the ambience and celebrate your special occasion.
