Frequently Asked Questions

Important Notice: Please check our Covid-19 information for the latest information

1. Where does my cruise depart from?
Cruise departure points and times are either shown on your Reservation Record or on the website under the Timetable section of the specific cruise you have booked. As departure details are subject to change, we recommend checking the website 24 hours prior to travel. For reference, our main departure wharves are:

  • Circular Quay Wharf 6
  • Darling Harbour, King Street Wharf 1 (approx 8-minute walk north of SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium and only a short walk from Wynyard via the new Wynyard Walk)
  • Darling Harbour, Pier 26 (next to the SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium)

2. Check-in & Boarding
We provide contactless check-in wherever possible. If you have purchased your cruise directly through Captain Cook Cruises you will receive a Reservation Record with boarding passes included. If you have not paid for your cruise or if you purchased your cruise through a travel agent or another third party you will need to collect your boarding passes from our ticket offices located at the departure wharf. We ask all passengers to please arrive 15-30 minutes before departure as we cannot hold the vessel if you or your guests run late

3. Do I need to advise where I will be boarding?
Our Premium Dining, Harbour Bar & Restaurant and Harbour Experience cruises offer a choice of departures times and locations. These need to be nominated at the time of booking. If you would like to change your boarding time or pick up location please contact reservations to amend your booking. If you are booking a group, please ask all of your guests to board from the one location.  For all other cruises please board at the location advised for your nominated ferry or cruise ticket.

4. Are seats assigned?
All Premium Dining, Harbour Bar & Restaurant cruise have reserved seating. All other cruises are open seating and guests are welcome to move freely between designated seating and open-air areas of your vessel.

5. Does everyone get a window seat?
Expansive windows throughout our vessels offer superb viewing no matter where you are seated on the vessel. Many guests prefer our raised centre tables or relaxed lounge bar seating, as they offer more expansive views. Only a finite number of window tables are available. Guaranteed window seating is available for an additional charge on Premium Dining Cruises. The surcharge applies to all guests at your table/s and pre-booking is essential.

6. Is wheelchair access available?
