Service: The service was excellent. Very warm and friendly staff that went out of their way to please.
Product: The night was really worth it. We did the Gold Penfolds Dinner and the wines were really good and the food was delicious. We were in a dreamland with the live singer - she was wonderful. The whole experience was gorgeous and I would highly recommend it, particularly for a romantic night out.

Service: I have nothing but praise for the crew of the Sydney 2000. When we missed our sunset cruise departure by literally 20 seconds I was devastated. But we waited for its return to find out if there might be a chance of getting on the dinner cruise. The crew were fantastic. They couldn't do enough to help us. Luckily there were seats available, and we were very happy with where we were seated. The band was fantastic and the food was delicious. I was crying tears of joy I was so happy. You could not have made our 32nd wedding anniversary any better! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Product: The crew could not have been any more helpful. When we missed our booked sunset cruise, by about 20 seconds, and waved the Sydney 2000 off as it sailed away, I was devastated. But we knew the cruise would be back for a dinner cruise later that evening. So when it came back to the harbour we asked the crew if there was a chance we could pay the difference and join the dinner cruise, if there were seats available. Luckily there were seats. We had a great table, fantastic staff, delicious food, and the band was great! I was crying tears of joy because I was so happy. You could not have made our 32nd wedding anniversary any better. Service: We enjoyed the service of the staff and the band was very good. The food was good but not excellent, the lamb shanks were very tough and not falling of the bone. They were not enjoyable to eat. A little more attention to detail would have made it a lot better. The photographer seemed like he was just doing a job and was not careful with the photos he was taking. If he had viewed the shots he had taken, he would have realized that they were not worth buying and he would have re taken the photos. we would have purchased more photos if the shots were decent.
Product: I felt the cost was a little high for the time we were on the dinner cruise. I expected the same amount of time as a Saturday evening. Our overseas guests enjoyed the cruise and the views but would have enjoyed a little more time on the harbour.

The harbour was beautiful but the service made us feel like we were on a production line. There was not a lot of warmth or interest in customers other than to feed us and clear away the plates, in our opinion.

Booked private room on 15th September to celebrate my father's 60th birthday. The room is beautiful however service slack. I asked for some birthday candles to be set up on desert, but nothing happened. On boarding a staff was relaxing in the Sirius room claiming to be working on the cruise. He's to be asked a few times to leave to give us some privacy. Go somewhere else if you are after just the view, surely more than half a grand for 1.5 hours will get you done decent service and courtesy.

A good evening sailing around the harbour, we boarded at Darling Harbour to find people that had boarded at Circular Quay already eating their meals. Staff seemed rushed to get passengers to choose their food from the menu, service was also haphazard, we were nearly served our mains before our starters, had to ask for butter for our rolls.
Attention to detail and more of a structured approach would be great, I appreciate that there were quite a few aboard but not overbooked by any means.
Food was fine as again catering for a lot of people.

Service: We paid $50 to have window seats, then the people on the next table asked to move to a window seat, sure enough they got moved to the table just behind us for $0. So I guess don’t pay $50 just take the chance and see if you can be moved.

My husband and I enjoyed a Captain's Dinner cruise in Sydney. We had amazing evening. Live music and food were great, staff was very friendly, exceptional service. I would defiantly recommend this cruise. I also recommend to pay extra for a guaranteed window seating, it worth is.
(Do not agree to have your photos taken if you are not going to buy them printed for $12 per picture).

Dinner Cruise (9/9/18): We had an amazing time, and want to in particular thank our waitress Cecelia. A few waitresses attended our table and all were great, but it seemed that Cecelia was our designated waitress and she was our main contact with the wait team. It was my mother’s 65th birthday and the whole crew (including the musicians) made it special, with the wait staff telling the band to sing happy birthday, and co-ordinating it with the kitchen to have a cake and candle brought out at the same time. I realise that this is probably standard operating procedure, but it was executed perfectly, and there were also a whole host of smaller details too numerous to catalogue that just made the night perfect. The drinks came to our table quickly, our questions were answered with a smile, and everything was just smooth and relaxed and the ambiance created by the staff was spot on. Thanks for a great night.

Service: Service was reasonable although slow to renew drinks, possibly because we were on a pre-paid drinks package.
Product: The photos on your website display tables with white table linen and I thought the presentation of the table was much like a coffee shop or cafe rather than a premium dining experience that was advertised on the web page. It was overpriced for the food that was served. The pumpkin/sweet potato entree was quite plain with no flavour as was the beef noodle entree. The beef main was lovely, however the lamb shanks tasted so much like bottled mixed herbs that it was overpowering and my guest didn't eat it any of it. The dessert was coffee shop standard. The service was reasonable although service of drinks was slow (most likely because we were on a pre-paid bar package). We bought the premium drinks package and thought it included spirits - the website was a little confusing in that regard - that's the only reason we chose premium was because we thought it included spirits. So our drinks package really didn't cover the drinks we received as we ended up buying spirits because one guest has an allergy to wine. A few glasses of wine each for the rest of our party, I thought was overly expensive for the price of that package as well. The ladies toilets were dirty, with vomit in one toilet and no toilet paper in two of the three cubicles and the floor and area just looked dirty with water and toilet paper around the place on the floor. The views were amazing, but I must say I wish I had of chosen another cruise option. I feel it was advertised as a luxurious experience, which it was not.

Service: Was not on the ship scheduled. Cruise was late, ship was cold, food not very good. We were taken to a different dock than the original even though we were told by staff it was the same. Left us stranded. We had to find a taxi to take us to our hotel.

We do try to maintain a warm environment for our passengers onboard, however with it being winter in Sydney and passengers able to access the upper deck on top of our vessel, a cooler temperature can be expected with passengers recommended to wear warm clothing as appropriate for the season. We display our cruise routes on our website for all our cruises to enable customers the opportunity to know where they will be cruising and what to expect, including where the cruise will depart and arrive to and from.

The food is sublime, it would not be out of place in a high quality restaurant.

Only downfall was paying for drinks package and service of drinks was slow, paid for premium service which was lacking. Obviously also know now that Circular Quay is the location to start your cruise as Darling Harbour robs you of 1 hour cruise time, would of been nice to know this in advance or change the route so Darling Harbour is where the cruise finishes, therefore giving all passangers exactly the same cruise time !!!

We were most impressed by this Cruise. Very tasty, well prepared and served food with finesse and style. Waitress was very friendly, attentive and gave excellent service. Accompanying Penfold wines were well matched with each food course. Lovely window seating. Only reservation was we felt that the evening meal with drinks was a little rushed. 2.5hrs was not enough time. Cruise should have been atleast another 1hour duration.
Music whilst dining with volcalist added to the evening cruise.
A really memorable and great experience.

Service: We have been on many a Captain Cook dinner Cruise and this was a Monday night and was a smaller gathering than usual.
We didn't find the service as attentive as in the past and thought maybe because it was a Monday and a smaller group that there wasn't the same energy from the staff.

We also paid extra for a Window seat but also saw a lot of window seats not being used and remembered in the past as a couple that being offered a window seat as a lovely gesture.

We have lovely memories of the Captain Cook cruises as I proposed to my wife on the top deck on New Years Eve.

We will definitely be back we were just a little disappointed.

Service: It just wasn’t a pleasant experience. Had a guest from overseas. The waitress was lovely but the drinks waiter insisted we have a bottle not two glasses and of course we left wine behind because I had to drive. My fault for not standing my ground, but he did keep insisting so we said yes to shut him up. The singer was awful, the singing was out of tune and drove my guest to the point he had to go outside. We did a lot of things during his three week visit and the dinner cruise was our worst experience. Sorry to say these things, in the end we were laughing it was so unpleasant.

Service: We were welcomed onboard by friendly crew. The boat was beautifully presented and we were impressed with the paintings of the first fleet displayed on the staircase up to the dining area. We were given a window seat with a fantastic view of Sydney harbour and served an extremely tasty 3 course meal. Our food arrived at appropriate times throughout the trip and the food and beverage staff were very friendly and efficient. The boat travelled very smoothly and we barely felt like we were moving at all. The whole 2 hour trip was a truly great way to celebrate my birthday and I would recommend the cruise to everyone!
Product: I had salmon for starters, roast duck for main course and a delicious chocolate mouse for dessert. All theee courses were extremely tasty!

Service: The VIVID cruise run by Captain Cook cruises was lovely. We had inside table for 2 which was great as we both had a view of the VIVID lights. The larger tables were disadvantaged as some had their back to the view. I was pleasantly surprised that dinner was not a buffet and each table was served a 3 course meal. I have booked with captain cook cruises before for my mothers 60th birthday and found it very good which is why I booked again thinking the captain cook boats are good and when we arrived last night to board for our vivid light cruise and got on a ferry type boat to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Firstly we sat inside as we had our 3 year old daughter with us but we could hardly see anything as the windows were dirty so we made our way upstairs with the other hundred people and there was no room for us to see anything, this is a sightseeing cruise and the boat was very unsuitable. I was under the impression when I booked that the boat would be a boat representing the boat in the advertisement online, if I knew that our boat would not be one of those boats there is no way I would have booked this cruise I would have booked with someone else with a $19 ticket, very disappointed I was mislead to think we would board a boat similar to what was advertised.

The cruise was fine . The lining up and boarding procedure was chaotic!!
No defining lines for what style of cruise.
We were booked on the 7 o'clock cruise and were there the recommended prior time. By the time we were able to find somebody to speak to, who had any knowledge of which gate/line to be in, we almost missed boarding. Very disappointing as I have been on a number of your cruises and recommend them to many. We were a group of eight visiting from the country for the weekend and this was going to be one of our highlights

Service: We had a great 1 hour cruise with drink - entertainment book special. Had fantastic views from the open deck and were able to move freely to take photos from all areas. Bar service was good, easily got our drink straight after we got on.
The only hiccup was a bit of lack of communication with our booking. Not sure from which end, but luckily I had checked it out in the afternoon - finally sorted and told to line up at counter, not boat (which guy in line didn't know about) and found I had been emailed the boarding pass only, not included drink voucher. Luckily I had taken my entertainment card in case with me to Sydney. All sorted and a great start to the vivid lights night

We didn’t her Vivid lights one hour cruise . The cruise was an excellent way to see the lights , it was easy to find the wharf , staff were excellent , overall was a great night . We had dinner at one of the restaurants when we disembarked .

Everything was great. The reason a 4 rather than 5 staff didn’t know whether wines were dry or sweet. Requested a rose sparkling, and asked them to check first if it was dry / brut. If sweet bring the welcome sparkling. They brought the sweet but quickly changed it when I asked them.

I would definitely recommend captains dinner with upgraded wines.

Service: Firstly it was “supposed” to be a cruise but ended up in a old manly ferry.

I’d booked tickets online for $29 but they were selling for $20 at box office.

Totally worthless.

Very disappointed. A total waste of money and worst experience ever. 😡

We had a fantastic experience. We were a party of 9. The food was great. The drinks were great. The service was fantastic. The only improvement we would suggest was that the music could have been a little better and modern. Otherwise through could not fault the experience. We had a ball!

Service: My husband and I went to the sunset dinner with captain cook cruise and the whole trip was quite enjoyable. Eventhough it's winter time, we did not really get to see sunset but we were lucky that the vivid sydney lights were on half way of the trip. It was really romantic for us as couple. There was only one thing that we weren't happy about, and it was when we asked the staff who was supervising our table if she could take a photo of me and my husband on my phone at least, and she said she would do it but never happened. Lastly, there was a photographer and he took a photo in every table except us.
Product: Departing time in winter time should be earlier than 5pm, to get the perfect view for sunset. Food was okay. The only disappointment was the staff member who was surpervising our table, we asked her nicely if she could take a photo of my partner and I for the reason that date was special to us. We patiently waited but every time she comes back she never give an effort to do it. But my husband and I enjoyed most of our time on the trip and its all that matters.

The staff were courteous, the boat was great even in the rain!
There was a very brief description of our journey before we left the dock but for an event such as this a commentary would have been so good.
Nothing was available, no running voice commentary, no printed information, not even map of journey and where the vivid installations could be seen.

Service: The cruise itself was a great way to see the vivid lights but i thought perhaps the projection screen could have been turned off as the lights/images from that were very distracting and made it hard to see out of some windows due to the reflexions - we were there to see outside the boat, not what was going on inside the boat.
I was also sure that my ticket when i booked it said a complementary drink but there was no mention of it on the actual ticket and so it wasn't honored.
Product: Great value when used in conjunction with an Entertainment Card, don't think i would pay full price though without being allocated a seat.

We were a large group and we're welcomed on board the Starlight Dinner Cruise by friendly staff. The 3 course dinner was well presented and tasty. The vegetarian main could have been more interesting (quinoa veggie patties with steamed vegetables), but all other options were very good. Wait staff were very attentive for the first two hours of the cruise. Thanks for a great night.

Service: I was very dissapointed with the Captains Dinner Cruise we went on during the vivid festival. I took my elderly mother who is slow and gets tired but the staff loading the passengers were inconsiderate and just rude. I asked for assistance with my mother and was told that no help was available. The same when we entered the boat and realised we needed to go up two flights of very steep stairs - again no help offered and one staff member actually rolled their eyes. T he cruise is clearly not accessible for anyone with limited mobility - this should be made clear on the web page.
The singer was so loud it was really hard to hear ourselves talking - she was also relentless. There is only so many Celine Dion covers that can be sung before it just becomes annoying.
The dinner itself was also very dissapointing. Our main meals came out at different times (not just a few minutes) and when mine and my mothers came out it was stone cold. The senior waiter did take them back and gave us a new hot meal and a complimentary glass of wine and was apologetic but by then the evening was pretty much ruined.
This is not an inexpensive evening with gthe dinner and cruise costing $155 per headplus drinks.
Overall a really dissapointing evening on what was meant to be a really special occasion for my mother.
Product: Overpriced. Cold dinner, rude staff at loading and annoying singer.

Service: The moment we went aboard we were treated with much courtesy and care. The staff handled everyone with efficiency and promptly attended to all requests. The unfortunate person who had to be taken off by ambulance was carried out with discretion and the episode hardly noticed.

Service: Very nice welcome, nice staff good music 10/10 for all that , but I noticed the other diners had almost finished their main meal and we had not been served ours .When I bought this to their attention our meal came out, nice and hot but, then they turned the lights right down and we had trouble eating in the dark. My 75 year old sister had just had an eye operation so this put a dampener on our night.
Product: Our main meal didn't arrive until I bought it to the staffs attention. Although hot and tasty, the lights were then dimmed. We are two elderly people so we had trouble with this.

Service: Excellent service throughout the evening. Really enjoyed my first two courses however the dessert was a little disappointing - order the orange & chocolate flourless cake & it was well and truly more orange than chocolate which was disappointing.

Service: it Was my friends birthday, and i specified that it was important for me in the booking.

Well i bought the extras, and it said that we had guaranteed a table next to the window.

we arrived, they sat us next to a group of around 50 teenager girls, screaming, and we were sitting just in the middle of the boat i an a small table, i went to speak with the managers, that happily moved us to a nicer table, as in the booking said that we had a guaranteed window sit.

The Night was OK, we had a door to the exterior, where people constantly were opening and closing the door. leaving us exposed to the wind.

When the end of the night were close, they brought desert, which for my surprise, they did not did anything special for us but yes for the others birthday.

Which was very disappointing to be honest. as i though this was going to be an a amazing 5 * dinner, which ended in a OK dinner.
Product: This did not meet any of my expectations. OK dinner in an overpriced tag.

Service: On Sunday 10 June I took my mother (for her Mother's day present) and my daughter on the 5.45pm Vivid one hour cruise.

Based on our experience we'll not be going on any more trips with your company.

1. with such darkened windows it was impossible to see the lights clearly.

2. as it was a cool night we didn't want to sit upstairs so stood at the rear. The stench of fuel fumes made it impossible to stay out there too long.

3. I've no idea why we sat at Circular Quay. And moreso when the choking fumes meant it was difficult to stay out on the rear deck.

4. we weren't taken into the cove near the Botanical Gardens so saw little of the lights there.

There was absolutely nothing that I saw from the boat's perspective, that I couldn't have seen by land.

I wasted my money by buying these 3 tickets. My mother agreed.

I won't be recommending your company and nor will my mother.

I'd like my money refunded for an unsatisfactory experience that didn't meet expectations of what I read online.

NB: Beside the automatic reply I received after sending this email to their feedback address I haven't heard a thing.

Thank you for your review about your Vivid Lights Cruise. We were disappointed to read that your Vivid Lights cruise experience was not up to your expectations. Our windows are cleaned thoroughly and regularly, however the salt water can sometimes make the windows appear otherwise. The windows are also tinted to protect our passenger’s eyes, so this may explain why you found the windows slightly darker. This, combined with the less than optimal weather likely made the windows look darker than usual. We apologize for the fuel fumes that permeated the rear end of the vessel in your experience. We do operate under strict environment controls for all our fuels used on our vessels, and like all vehicles using petroleum the fumes are funnelled via our exhaust. Our cruise stopped at Circular Quay give our passengers the option to disembark and to give all passengers an unobstructed, 360-degree, panoramic view of the full canvas of lights within the Circular Quay precinct. We also adhere to strict rules of operating on the harbour, which is unfortunately outside our control. We apologise for this inconvenience.

Service: Ticketing staff was not friendly at all. The boat/ship/ferry was dated. We took the "John Cadman II" on 13 June 2018 @8pm. Queue was long and ground staffs were not very professional with dealing with the crowds. They need more trainings. The cruise itself was quite good with the Sydney sceneries. Should have more seats on the decks.
Product: Over priced with minimal hospitality on board. Even the river cruise in Singapore is better.

The cruise itself was fine and the staff were very pleasant. However, my food experience was disappointing. I had gone to the trouble of telephoning beforehand to explain that I am gluten and lactose intolerant, so was rather surprised when my bread was not gluten free. I pointed this out and was told they were baking gluten bread for me; this arrived at the same time as my main course which was rather too late, since they were clearing the entree by then! Incidentally the entree was the most inadequate mezze plate I have ever seen in my life (I used to live in Greece) and really doesn’t deserve that name.
My second frustration was the salmon which was very bland, and came with insufficient salsa. I could only eat half of it, and requested a takeaway container so I could give the rest to my cat. I was told this was against company policy. These days food wastage is widely frowned upon, so I really think it is time you reviewed this policy, to avoid bad press! I am sure that customers would be happy to sign a waiver if necessary. Finally, my dessert (orange chocolate pudding) was dry & tasteless; since there was no lactose free cream to moisten it, I could not eat it. Thank god the wine was drinkable!

Service: I was very disappointed that we saw so little of the Vivid Lights,that was my main reason for going on the cruise, i have Arthritis in my hips and find it difficult walking a lot, the meal was nice and our waiter Tobias was very attentive, i wondered why we did not go into Farm Cove to view the lights from the Botanic Gardens,we stopped at a wharf in Circular Quay(why i do not know) i felt the time spent here could have taken us into Farm Cove instead.

Food average and fast service, band absolutely awful and far too loud, strip lights on the Windows made viewing of the Vivid lights difficult (the only reason we booked the cruise) AND you should pre explain that the boat is available to board from 7pm and the Kings Wharf is different from Bangaroo as we found several people waiting at the wrong pier. All in all a complete waste of an evening.

Service: Unless you were on the top deck, you couldn't really get a good view of the lights because the interior lights on the boat were reflecting on the windows. Because of this, the upper deck was overcrowded and our kids couldn't see past the adults anyway.

Poor experience when making the booking with a group. Original price to other members of the group was $29, however- due to a delicate family situation, I was unable to book until closer to the day and was forced to pay $39. Not worth even $19!!!

Service: The food and table service were average (some aspects even below average) overall. I had a steak (which was quite good) but the vegetables were well below expectations. My wife also said that her meal was 'pretty unappealing'. The attendant on our table seemed 'distracted', although the young lady who brought out some of our meal was much more enthusiastic.
Based on our experience I would be unlikely to recommend the experience to friends. We were also looking forward to the Vivid experience but have to say our taxi driver was correct in that it was a 'bit over-rated'. Best of luck for future cruises.

Service: First class operation. The ship was spotless and comfortable. The trip to view VIVID was wonderful; lots of camera moments particularly when inside the Quay area. Perhaps the highlight pics were of the Opera House and Luna Park.

We hope to do the Captain Cook Cruise next year, perhaps the "dinner' cruiser.

Service: Well organised. Lovely friendly efficient service staff. Good value. Very pleasant evening. Love that it's 2 hour cruise not 3. Plenty of time for eating and viewing. Chosen specifically for that reason. Food and wine package looked good and it was. Lovely service lady came looking for us out on deck to let us know food on table. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, the staff were warm, friendly and efficient. The meal first class and the accompanying wines were suitably matched to all of the courses.

Service: On a very rainy night, we thought our Vivid experience was going to be a wash out. However, the excellent service, great wine and amazing food absolutely made up for it all. In fact, we enjoyed viewing the slightly watery lights of our lovely city through the windows of a luxury vessel. Thank you Captain Cook Cruises for making our Vivid experience so special.

It was a good overall experience. Crew and vessel were nice and drinks were of expected quality/value. Food was disappointing. My salad came dressed and hers did not, and my dessert was missing things hers had. Quality of food was ok but some more bread would have been good. Also...lighting made the lights tour hard to enjoy as the glare into the boat was bad...due to the glare people had to stand behind window seat tables and press their phones onto the glass. Overall ok...i would be willing to try a different cruise.

Service: It was not the boat/package that we booked. We were told over the phone the boat was a large boat fitting 200-300 people with a drink on arrival. We arrived to find it was a 30-40 person sized boat which made it very choppy and there was no free drink on arrival. Not sure I would use Captain Cook again

Service: Cruise was fine. surprisingly plenty of room on board and seats availablle. Really need to work on improved organisation and easy identification of queues for customers trying to line up for their allotted cruise. King St wharf very dark during vivid, thousands of people in vicinity and multiple wharfs and cruises departing at different times creates confusion and people in wrong queues and some disgruntled customers. Recommend colour coding cruise times and provide some signage, setting up chicanes for queues for different cruise times and providing lots of elevated well lit temporary signposting that is visible above crowd. ie yellow 8.15pm captain cook cruise with at least 2 staff holding lollipop sign and guiding people to correct queue.
Product: Disorganisation for queues. Couldnt see which queue belonged to which wharf as they wrapped around each other. We started in wrong queue. Then got moved a few times to another queue whilst waiting for cruise. Nil to minimal lighting on wharf and no signage at all. You must install some chicanes to control queues and prevent overspill back up onto walkways and provide some signage.

Service: We enjoyed the cruise once we got going. But boarding was just a huge mess. lines everywhere, people not knowing where to line up. Staff in the office just saying join a line. You need someone or several people on the ground helping people and several lines for each cruise, not all in together. As an event organiser, this was organised chaos. Nobody knew what to do or where to go and nobody was helping. Be there for 7pm leaving and we are still not onboard. I know vivid is a big money spinner for you, but you need to address the boarding issues. People pushing in once we were lined up, would not occur if you had it organised.
The cruise was great and we enjoyed it, but the rest was a disaster.
Product: I purchased online months before, which meant nothing on boarding. The cruise was nice and we enjoyed the views. But it wasn't a full hour as was stated on the ticket. Boat was clean and staff friendly onboard.

Service: The cruise was easy to access, the route taken could have been better - taking in farm cove and focussing on Vivid more than a harbour cruise.
The prices was good - we had a discount coupon.
The boat also had plastic covers which should have been opened properly to allow better viewing.

I think it would have been nice to have operated from Circular Quay as we could more easily get to see installations from the land in the one night we had available but with the numbers involved it obviously was not practical to do that.

We had pre-purchased for the 6.45pm cruise, however, we were sent back to the end of the line to wait for no reason. After a long wait we were redirected back to the head of the queue by another CC person and boarded the 7.15pm cruise. Some staff seemed quite disorganised maybe because of the large line-up and needed a better plan to work by. Perhaps some large line-up signs with the boat boarding times that one could choose and line up behind. We were not in a hurry so didn't matter, however, I would've been upset if we had another engagement afterwards. A couple beside us, who were also herded back, boarded with us and they had booked for the 6.15pm!
The cruise itself was very enjoyable.

Not enough outdoor standing area for vivid. The interior windows were all foggy so could not see out easily and the outdoor areas were too full to be able to see the sights without obstruction.

Service: We enjoyed our Vivid dinner cruise so much last time we had to do it again with Captain Cook. This was our 2nd time for Vivid. The food was lovely and the service on board was great. I would recommend the MV Sydney 2000 to anyone. It rained but we stayed dry and enjoyed the views.

Service: Poorly organised, no one seemed to know what boat we were supposed to be on. The boat used was not optimal to see the vivid lights from and they docked us in circular quay for 10mins staring at nothing. Wouldn’t use them again.
Product: Badly organised and not worth the money. Boat used wasn’t great to see out of so you had to stand outside in the rain if you wanted to see anything.

Good Morning,

I have been misinformed about the service, while booking the 'Sunset Cruise'. The refreshments were pathetic, and unlike anything I was told they would be. To make up and give my guest a consolation price, I wasted more money, purchasing a second cruise, immediately following the Sunset Cruise - on the same boat.

As an example; please consider the behaviour of the waiter who foisted on us a second bottle of wine, with only a short time before the end of the 2nd cruise. I then had to argue with the stuff about sitting a few more minutes, finishing the drink while there were cleaning and cluttering around us.

In short, I feel cheated

Service: My friends and I joined a Vivid Cruise on the 9th June, as we are all over 60 we enjoy seeing Vivid via a dinner cruise.
The menu consisted of excellent choices, (4) four entree, (4) four main, (4) dessert. Our choices were delicious, and enjoyed by all.
The on board entertainment, was our era of music, which made dinner all the more enjoyable.
The view of the harbour was clear and all lite up attractions were visible from our seats.
We could not fault the service of our waitress, she was polite and obliging and sorted any minor problems that arose.
We did have one complaint, that tea and coffee were not included in our meal and had to be paid for at the end of the night, as seniors we all enjoy a “cuppa” at the end of a meal.
Product: Need to include tea and coffee as part of the meal not an extra that has to be paid for separately

Service: The Vivid cruise was disappointing as we sat at circular quay looking at a couple of lights on buildings nothing on customs house. No Gumnut babies screened.
Product: Disappointed as we did not think sitting at circular quay for 20 minutes was not much of a cruise.

Service: I spoke with Captain Cook call centre to ask if it was accessible by wheelchair or walker as we hired a bus and driver to take a group of 24 people, I was informed it would be an easy walk down a ramp straight to the boat. On the night there was no parking as ranger told the bus driver to park 300 metres away which meant stairs where in the path, it proved too difficult. The 24 people where very disappointed and a lot of money spent and wasted due to misinformation

Some clearer signage would help enormously at the jetty. There is a wharf 1 then a wharf 2 at Bangaroo then another wharf 1 and wharf 2 for Captain Cook and assorted cruise boats but ir would make far more sense of all wharves could be numbered consecutively. The checking of tickets was farcical with staff struggling to read our tickets in the dark and why our tickets had to be checked 3 times by 3 members of the staff I have no idea . The cruise itself was fine once we got on board.

Service: I really did not experience any service it was a one hour vivid cruise so other than the people moving the gang ways I did not meet any one whom worked for Captain cook. For the price I thought the event was a bit of a rip off we cruised from king street wharf to circular quay where we sat for a good 20 mins so I found it all a tad boring to be honest. Having said that the actually boat was in good repair and was conformable

Service: The whole experience exceeded our expectations. What a fantastic way to experience Vivid without the crush of the crowds, the long walks or the cold and rain. Service: We were on the Penfolds cruise in 2017 and found the atmosphere was so much better. We also had a band which was great because we could get up to dance. This year we only had 20 people in total and a piano was all the entertainment we had. I would have preferred to pay less and be down stairs. The staff, however and the meals were amazing.

While standing out on the top deck, it was very difficult to hear any of the announcements made by the captain. Cruise was late leaving, stopped for reasons unknown and not scheduled in circular quay and then the remainder of the cruise was rushed. On the whole, it was not a great experience.

Service: The cruise itself was fine but the pre-departure process was not well organised. There was no clear instruction what to do when we got to the wharf so many people were just hanging around at the wharf, in the rain. It was very wet and cold and there was almost no shelter. After a while someone showed up and told us we needed to pick up our tickets (at a counter hidden away) and wait at a different spot. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if the weather had been more forgiving, but really could have been avoided with some clear instructions on the booking confirmation (and sorry but having to search on your website only to find 'departure at Wharf 1' is not good enough - try waiting there on a cold wet winter night).
Product: The cruise itself was good, even though it was wet and cold we could still enjoy clear views of the harbour on the deck.

Service: We found the service to be very good on a very busy night. Boarding was slightly chaotic but handled very well.
Product: I thought it may have been slightly overpriced as we only had one alcoholic drink & one soft drink each (our choice, but more was available if desired). I like a coffee after dinner but that was extra. The meal was quite nice although my chicken could have been slightly hotter & the carrot a bit softer. The venue was well set out and tables nicely set although quite noisy with a large crowd during Vivid. We still enjoyed the evening. We also paid extra for a window seat.

Service: Service was 5 star. Wish they could 1) turn off interior lights so you could see the lights without going outside and 2) control the crowds that gather in front of those of us that arrive early and get a seat. Late arrivers stand and crowd less than a foot from your legs while you are seated and totally block the view.
Product: Turn off interior lights. Block peopel from standing in front of people in seats

We provide views of the vivid lights to the optimal amount of passengers per cruise. We always ensure customers have access to the whole of the vessel and whilst we encourage our passengers to spread out throughout the entirety of our vessel, we unfortunately do not have any control of this. As you are aware, finding a balance between dimming the interior lights completely to ensure great views of the skyline, in conjunction with safety standards is difficult to balance. Service: Excellent service. shame about the weather.
Product: bridge and circular quay great, opera house very ordinary, botanical gardens, not half as good as last year.

Service: Clean deck, courteous staff, on time . Time and money spent well.
Product: Properly planned . Didn't rush and stopped at a good view of opera house for almost 10 minutes. Lot of happy faces on the deck.

Service: This was my second vivid cruise. Last year’s was such fun that I invited friends along to experience it. What a disaster! We paid more than last year simply to have a choice of the same food as was served last year. When I asked for more wine, the service staff were rude and dismissive, almost to the point of contempt that we thought paying more was worth more than a choice of meals at each course.
Further, the lights were turned down so we could barely see what we were eating.
I could have save a lot of money and caught the ferry to Manly, had a nice dinner with wine and come home with money spare compared with the poor experience last weekend.
Sadly, it will be never again and I won’t be recommending anyone else does it, either.
Product: Not worth the money. Better food staying on shore and eating at a restaurant.

Service: Captain was informative, staff was friendly. Unfortunately it was a very rainy evening which made it difficult to see through the windows, and the top deck was too windy, can't change the weather, so no fault of the service.
Product: Again the vivid experience was overall ok, just not as exciting as we were expecting.

The time we chose wasn’t too busy which made the boat ride to watch a Vivid lights more enjoyable. We were able to relax at our tables with our drinks and go up to the top when we wanted to. Staff were friendly and it was a nice 1 hr trip.

Service: The line going into the boat is not organised. I saw people in the wrong queue and missed out their cruise.. I have to keep asking questions to where is our boat. and what time etc etc.. Inside the cruise, food, drinks & service is all perfect. Im hoping the outside service will improve.
Product: Foodwise you can do better. Salmon cook well but no flavour.

Service: We booked a cruise purely to get a better view of the vivid lights. Unfortunately the number of people on board made it impossible to see anything. Even after we moved from our seats, which we lined up for over 30 mins for, We couldn’t get anywhere near the edge to get a good view or even a photo without someone else’s head in the way. I understand the Vivid crowds are big but if you’re going to provide a service to see the lights perhaps put a more reasonable cap on the numbers

Service: the staff were very efficient getting us on board in the rain - but very disappointed in what we could see from the boat - very few lights - thought we would be closer to shore to see what was going on at the Botanical Gardens and the Opera House

Service: I purchased discounted tickets online through the Entertainment Book offer, the tickets were almost half price, it was a good deal.
Product: It started raining while we were queued at the quay (no cover), luckily we had umbrellas with us, a number of people queuing ran for cover. And unfortunately, because it was raining, the boat windows fogged up with condensation so we had to continuously wipe the windows to try and see out. If it had been a fine night and we could have gone up to the viewing deck, it would have been a lot better.

Service: We absolutely loved the Dinner and Cruise. The service was excellent! All staff were very friendly. We celebrated our 5 year anniversary and it was lovely. The food was amazing and the pianist played a very nice selection of music. Thank you!
