Shark Island is Sydney's very own picnic island located just off the exclusive eastern suburbs of Point Piper, Rose Bay and Vaucluse with 360° harbour views from the Opera House and Harbour Bridge to the west and the entrance of Sydney Harbour to the east.
Captain Cook Cruises, in conjunction with NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service, will operate a special service from Circular Quay to Shark Island on Australia Day. Bring your own picnic lunch and enjoy the day on this fabulous Harbour Island.

- BYO Picnic - food and beverage facilities are not available on the island (no BBQ facilities)
- Places are strictly limited to meet the Island capacity
- Book early to avoid disappointment
Shark Island Facilities
- Five picnic shelters with table and bench
- One gazebo for up to 30 people (this cannot be booked - first come, first served basis)
- Plenty of shady trees, grassy areas and a small beach area
- Drinking water and toilets are available on the island
- Food and beverage facilities are not available on the island – BYO picnic (no BBQ facilities)
- Please ensure you bring suitable walking shoes, sunscreen, hat & water bottle
- Please take your rubbish with you when you leave
- Please supervise children at all times, particularly around rocky ledges and on uneven pathways
- We encourage you to help preserve our environment by only bringing recyclable picnic containers and by leaving nothing on the island
- There are no disposal facilities on the island - please take away everything you bring

- Please respect other groups and families whilst on Shark Island
- Please drink responsibly
- Amplified music prohibited within NSW National Parks without consent
