Fij Islands Diving Excursions 2010-11

The Reef Endeavour & Reef Escape, Sailing Safari & Tivua Island Day Cruises offers dive opportunities at an additional cost for both certified and ‘first time’ divers. Diving excursions are available through the dive operator Reef Safari.  The following information is provided by Reef Safari and all tours are subject to Reef Safari’s normal terms and conditions.

DIVE LOCATIONS

Reef Endeavour & Reef Escape Cruises
Dive sites will vary depending on the cruise and conditions. Generally two dives per day are available and are undertaken by smaller boat to access some of Fiji’s amazing dive locations.  Swim throughs, caves, coral bommies and breathtaking coral gardens are some of the highlights you may experience. The average dive duration is 40 minutes and most dives cater to part-time or occasional divers. For first time divers, a gentle entrance from the shores of a tropical island will see you exploring the spectacular fringing coral reefs. Dives are undertaken subject to weather conditions and cruise itinerary requirements.

Sailing Safari & Tivua Island Day Cruise
Scuba divers can relax and enjoy some great fringing coral reef diving. Water temperatures are usually well above 24 degrees and visibility is generally good.
Dive sites will vary depending on the conditions on the day, however there is a minimum of two dive opportunities per day. Sites are located just 5 – 10 minutes from shore and offer a variety of coral formations and abundant marine life.

The average dive duration is 40 minutes and dives cater to beginner or certified divers. Dives are undertaken subject to weather conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

All certified divers must present an internationally recognized Open Water Dive Certificate to the Reef Safari on-board dive instructor to participate in certified dives.  Introductory (or beginner) divers are not required to have a certification card however they will need to complete a medical and waiver form. To avoid disappointment, passengers with any health issues or taking any medication, should visit their doctor to obtain a fitness to dive certificate prior to embarkation (not available in Fiji).

Reef Endeavour & Escape - If already a certified diver you may choose to participate in the Advanced Adventurer Course and undertake a range of speciality dives including navigation, deep, naturalist, and boat diving.

EQUIPMENT

Full dive equipment is provided as part of your package. This includes tanks, wetsuits, regulators, snorkels, mask, fins, BCDs and weight belts.

Reef Endeavour & Reef Escape - The ship carries a compressor. Bringing your own wetsuit is an advantage however they are available on board. You are also welcome to bring your own dive equipment.
